"Thus far the Lord has helped us." — 1 Samuel 7:12
“To nurture a Christ-like generation through spiritual growth, community impact, and a future of faith and hope.”
“To share God’s love by building faith, welcoming all, and guiding people into a closer relationship with Him.”
"See What The Lord Has Done."
The PCEA Miracle Church has an inspiring history that began in 2009 when it was initially established as Miracle District, driven by the faith and vision of a dedicated group from the Kimbo Parish Kirk session under the leadership of Rev. Hezekia Muraya.
The formation of Miracle District was established as a District of Tumaini Local Church Committee (LCC). The newly formed Miracle District with thirteen families was placed under the stewardship of Elder Bilha Gathoni Mukuria, with three Deacons: Mrs. Virginia Muthoni Mbugua, the late Mrs. Irene Kagai, and Mr. Peter Mwihia Chege.
In 2010, under the guidance of Rev. Charles Maingi, the Tumaini Local Church Committee acquired two plots of land. In the following year 2011, Tumaini LCC constructed a church school shelter for worship.
In 2013, the Tumaini LCC officially opened its newly constructed shelter, providing access to both children and elderly members of the Miracle District for worship.
On January 5, 2014, Miracle District was granted permission to conduct Kikuyu Services under the Tumaini LCC, a significant milestone officiated by Retired Rev. Charles Maingi. As the church continued to grow, Retired Elder Bilha Gathoni Mukuria served as Chairperson, supported by Elder Veronica Wanjiru Maina as Secretary, who was seconded from Tumaini LCC. The late Elder Joshua Mwangi, who retired from leading Rivers Side District, also joined in the leadership. Later, Retired Elder John Mukuria came on board after departing from Emmanuel District.
Through divine grace, membership at Miracle Church continued to increase, prompting the Kirk Session of Kimbo to appoint additional Elders to enhance service delivery. On September 28, 2014, Mr. John Mbugua Karuku was ordained as Elder under Kimbo Parish, a ceremony presided over by Retired Rev. Charles Maingi. This led to the division of Miracle District, creating Siloam District led by Elder John Mbugua Karuku and Bethel District led by Elder Bilha Gathoni Mukuria.
On January 5, 2015, a historic exodus from Miracle District of Tumaini Church to the current site of Miracle Church was officiated by Rev. Charles Maingi, attended by the Kirk session and the broader Tumaini Congregation.
In early September 2015, the Kirk Session of Kimbo Parish, under Rev. Eutycus Muriithi Gikunju, approved the establishment of a Local Church Council (LCC) under Elder John Mbugua Karuku and Elder Bilha Gathoni Mukuria, while Elders Veronica Wanjiru Maina and Joshua Mwangi returned to Tumaini.
So far, we have acquired 7 additional plots, and we received a donation of two extra plots from our dedicated members. The dedication of plots and groundbreaking was conducted on March 14, 2021, by Rev. Ndoria Stephen Murigu.
On August 7, 2022, Nairobi North Moderator Rev. David Gitundu presided over the laying of the foundation stone for the ongoing sanctuary.
PCEA Miracle Church grew tremendously, leading to the enlargement of our facilities three times before the need arose to move to a bigger space. Through God's help and the faithfulness of our members, a significant exodus from the temporary worship shelter to our ongoing sanctuary under construction was presided over by Rev. Ndoria Stephen on January 14, 2024.
Since the formation of PCEA Miracle Church, we have added more districts:
